On the picturesque Gibbston Back Road you will find our Pinot Gris Vineyard. Grapes were hand harvested early morning and fermented in small batches. This youthful pinot gris is then subtlety aged in older French oak, thus adding additional layers of texture and weight to the palate and enhancing those exceptional aromatics and flavours. On the nose you'll find aromas of ripe peach, nectarine, and Nashi pear with a vibrant luscious palate and long, zesty finish. It all started with a kiss! A Stolen Kiss Rosé back in 2006, when winemaker Malcolm Rees-Francis 'stole' some Pinot Noir grapes that were destined for Rockburn's flagship Central Otago Pinot Noir and turned them into one of the country's first premium Rosé wines. Once unleashed into your glass its candy-floss and crème-brûlée aromas shall sashay into a flirtatious toffee-apple and simmering strawberry palate smeared with cherry lip-gloss; most fun to drink chilled on sultry summer afternoons and evenings.

RUA Pinot Noir has a rich and generous palate, with black cherry, raspberry and plum notes supported by vanilla and classic Central Otago dried herbs. A subtle spiciness adds to the complexity. The silky tannins are well integrated in this fresh and vibrant Central Otago Pinot Noir.

The bouquet is fragrant and bursting with fruit notes. It shows clean aromas of apples, pears, and citrus, accompanied by hints of wisteria. Crisp, clean, and delicate with fine bubbles on the palate. Intense flavours of apples and peaches lead to a pleasant finish with lingering fruit and floral notes.

Ruffino Sparkling Rosé is fresh and fragrant with notes of strawberry and slight hints of rose petals. On the palate this wine has elegant bubbles and refreshing acidity, offering alluring flavours of delicate red berries and white fruits that linger through the finish.

Flavours of passionfruit, grapefruit and crisp green apple with a salty minerality. Pale green in colour. Intense tropical aromas of passionfruit, grapefruit and green apple with a hint of jalapeño pepper. Herbaceous, rich and weighty with flavours of white stone fruit, grapefruit pith and blackcurrant. The palate has a generous mouthfeel with a salty minerality and a clean fresh finish.

Rows are planted north-east to south-west at a 43 degree angle rather than the typical north to south. This leads to slightly greener characters in grapes on the south facing side and more tropical characters in grapes on the north facing side. The resulting wine is therefore multi-dimensional and complex. The site is cooler than some other areas of the valley and hence slower to ripen. The distinguishing flavours are crushed herbs (often associated with the coastal Awatere region) and an absence of sweaty characteristics.
